Local SEO in Leeds: get into the map pack, not just the results
When someone nearby searches for what you do, Google shows three businesses on a map before anything else. We set up and run the things that decide which three: your Google Business Profile, your reviews, your listings and your location pages.

The Map Pack
How Google picks the three
Google says it weighs three things for local results. Relevance: how well your profile and your website match what was searched. Distance: how close you are to the person searching, or to the place they typed. Prominence: how well known you are, from reviews, links and mentions across the web.
You can't move your premises closer to every customer. The other two you can change, and that's the work: a profile and a site that match what people actually search for, and a steady build-up of reviews and mentions that tell Google you're real and trusted.
If you'd rather do the basics yourself, our guide to getting into the map pack walks you through them. If the site itself is slow or hard for Google to read, that's a job for technical SEO.
What We Do
The work, in order
i.
Google Business Profile
Set up properly first: the right primary category, your services, hours, photos and service areas. Then kept active with a monthly update, so Google sees a business that's open and trading. What changed on Google Business Profile this year.
ii.
Reviews, the honest way
A simple routine for asking happy customers for a review at the right moment, and replying to every one. No incentives and no review swaps: they break Google's rules and can get a profile suspended. Here's how to get more Google reviews the honest way.
iii.
Listings and citations
Your name, address and phone the same everywhere that matters: Bing Places, Apple Business Connect, Yell, Facebook and the directories in your sector. Kept tidy every quarter on Local Pro and Local SEO Plus.
iv.
Location pages
A page for each area you genuinely serve, written about that place rather than a template with the name swapped. It's how this site is built too: see every area we cover.
v.
Tracked searches
We track 10, 20 or 40 searches every month, depending on your plan, and improve a page each month to move them.
vi.
A report you can read
Every month: which searches moved, how many calls and enquiries came in, and what we're doing next. No vanity numbers.
Trades & Mobile Services
No shopfront? Service-area businesses rank differently
Plumbers, electricians, cleaners, mobile hairdressers and most trades work at the customer's address, not their own. Google lets you hide your home address and list the areas you cover instead, up to twenty of them. Set up wrongly, it's a common reason a good trade never appears on the map at all.
Distance still counts: a Morley plumber shows up first for searches in and around Morley. So we pair the profile with pages for the places you actually work, which lets you be found in the ordinary results further out. We run Vesica the same way: a service-area business based in Leeds, visiting clients across Yorkshire. For the website side, see websites for trades.
Proof
What it looks like in practice
Radiant Dental went live on 4 September 2026 with ten local area pages, each written about its own town, and every treatment priced. In its first month on Google it earned 373 clicks from 19,129 appearances in search and ranked #3 for “dentist ashton under lyne”. Published with the practice's permission. How the Radiant build works.
Brearley Gas Services, heating engineers in Morley, had a Google profile with no website behind it. Ten days later they had 24 pages, published prices and a profile that matches the site. Read how it was done.
FAQ
Local SEO in Leeds, answered
How long does it take to get into the map pack?
It depends on how competitive your searches are and where you're starting from. A neglected profile can move within weeks of being fixed; a crowded search in central Leeds can take months. We track it every month, so you can see the trend rather than guess.
Can you guarantee a place in the map pack?
No. Nobody honestly can: Google decides, and the distance between you and the person searching is a big part of it. What we commit to is the work in your plan, done every month, with a report you can read.
Do I need a website for local SEO?
A Google Business Profile can appear on the map on its own, but a good website makes it far more likely, and it's where most people check you out before they call. If your site is fine, keep it and take Local SEO on its own; if it isn't, a website plan includes the same SEO.
Can I show up in areas where I don't have an address?
On the map, mostly close to where you're based, because distance counts. In the ordinary results, yes, with genuine pages for the places you serve. We'll tell you honestly which areas are worth chasing.
